Privacy PolicyThis Privacy Statement contains important information about your personal information. All information that you provide to Embanet through the online registration form or e-mail requests for further information will be dealt with as provided for in this statement.
Embanet is the online education partner of Kent State University. Embanet requires a certain amount of information from prospective students and/or persons requesting further information about Kent State's online programs in order to respond to your queries and to assess and review your credentials for the purpose of application. If you decide to apply, Embanet will collect and submit the application materials to the appropriate Admissions Office at Kent State. In the event you are accepted into a program, the personal information you have previously provided to Embanet will be used to provide services to you, including your participation in the online program, and to establish, maintain and manage our relationship with you as Kent State’s e-learning partner. Furthermore, if you enroll in an online program, to the extent the personal information you provide to us is considered an educational record under the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), it is considered confidential and is protected from disclosure under the provisions of FERPA.
Embanet collects and maintains different types of personal information. This includes:
• contact and identification information, such as your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address;
• information concerning your education history, including degrees granted and universities attended and
employment history;
• application information relating to programs, including credit information for payment of application or deposit fees; and
• business relationship information including information related to your preferences, feedback and information requested by
or provided to you.
Embanet does not sell or rent any of your personal information to any third party. Embanet may need to disclose your personal information when required by law. In the event it is determined that an online program that you applied for or inquired about is not the right fit for you, Embanet may inform you about other online programs that may be more suitable for you. However, Embanet respects your wishes. At any time you may request to discontinue receiving e-mail communications from Embanet by clicking on the opt-out link in the e-mail to “unsubscribe" from further e-mail communication.
